· What strategies did the teacher use to instruct learners during the class?

  • The teacher greeted the students and asked them to take out their work and books

  • The teacher then took the roll - while the she was taking the roll, each student had to say one word from the chapter - no repetition

  • task ready on the projector

  • Positivity

  • Assigned seats

  • roll call first thing

  • students could only go to the bathroom if it was urgent

  • use of phone permitted if it was flat on the table

  • the students had a good relationship with the teacher

  • Students attention was gathered by starting the class with recap task

  • note was left on the vsware for extremely disruptive behaviour - cant take up journals due to the school covid protocols

  • recap of a word from chapter when the roll was called

  • task - in pairs (assigned by the teacher) creating a study note on one topic from chapter

Any additional comments on what you learned from the observation class?

Giving the students a group project like this would be very useful for art history, having a group of girls doing different artists and being able to share it with the other girls in the class.
